Trustworthy

The driving force behind Connect Psychology Service has always been, and continues to be, the children, young people, families and professionals we work alongside.

Janet and Kirsten are committed to helping people reach their potential, whether that’s a child struggling with learning and relationships, a family navigating complex challenges, or a team working to build a healthier, more reflective culture. Their work is rooted in the belief that with the right understanding and support, people can grow, connect and thrive.

At Connect Psychology Service, we focus on building safe, trusting relationships. This applies not only to the therapeutic work we do with children and families, but also to the support we offer to professionals and organisations. Through training, coaching and organisational psychology, we help teams develop the clarity, confidence and reflective space they need to support others well.

Our work spans education, health, legal and community settings, but whatever the context, our aim is always the same: to strengthen understanding, unlock potential and support lasting change.

What We Offer

School Assessments

A school-based psychological assessment through Connect Psychology Service involves is bespoke but often involves gathering background information, observing the child, and conducting assessments to understand their needs, including cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioural areas.

We provide detailed reports or consultations with tailored recommendations, and offer follow-up support to monitor progress and ensure effective interventions.

In-depth psychological assessments (via insurers and legal representatives)

We offer a personalised care pathway for individuals who have sustained traumatic injury and needing an in depth psychological assessment and recommendations for a therapeutic package to support clients on their recovery journey.

In-depth psychological assessments for adopted/SGO and in-care CYP

Connect Psychology Service have worked for a number of years with social care teams to provide in-depth psychological assessments for children and young people who are in care or adopted/under SGO. We offer an holistic, person centred approach that establishes therapeutic need and prioritises which therapeutic approach should be accessed first in an effort to support CYP and their families to connect and engage with each other in safe and meaningful ways.

Occupational Therapy Assessments

As part of a multidisiplinary team we can provide specialist in depth sensory assessments with a qualified children’s occupational therapist which can be accessed virtually in the comfort of your home. A robust and comprehensive report includes recommendations that can be applied to both home and school.

A Little About Us

Connect Psychology Service was founded by directors, Dr Janet Menna and Dr Kirsten Krawczyk, who recognised the need for an East Midlands-based Psychological Assessment Centre for children and young people who are adopted and looked after by the Local Authority.

Janet and Kirsten are passionate about working with children and families with complex needs and as Practitioner Psychologists they can offer recommendations regarding how families and Local Authorities can best meet the child/young person’s therapeutic and educational needs.
